What We Buy at United Scrap Metal Traders

United Scrap Metal Traders buys a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals from households, tradies, builders and businesses across Brisbane. Whether you’ve got a trailer load of steel offcuts or an old appliance taking up space in the shed, there’s a good chance we’ll take it off your hands and pay you cash for it.

Materials We Accept

Ferrous Metals

Steel, iron and other magnetic metals are among the most common materials we receive. From offcuts and structural steel to old machinery parts, we weigh and pay for ferrous metal on the spot.

Non-Ferrous Metals

Copper, brass, aluminium, stainless steel and other non-magnetic metals typically bring a higher return. We sort and price these by grade, so it pays to separate your non-ferrous metal before you arrive.

White Goods & Appliances

Old fridges, washing machines, dryers and other household appliances contain valuable metal once broken down. We accept white goods and appliances at our Murarrie depot, no matter their age or condition.

Air Conditioners

Split systems, window units and ducted air conditioning components are all welcome. These units contain a mix of copper, aluminium and steel, which makes them well worth recycling rather than sending to landfill.

Lead Batteries

Car, truck and industrial lead acid batteries are accepted for recycling. Batteries need to be handled carefully, so our team will guide you through the drop off process to keep everyone safe.

E-Waste and Electronics

Computers, televisions, printers, cabling and other electronic items contain recoverable metals. We accept e-waste for responsible recycling instead of it ending up in general waste.

Household Scrap

Guttering, hot water systems, bed frames, tools, pots and pans and general household metal items all have value. If you're not sure whether something counts as household scrap, bring it in and our team will take a look.

Demolition Scrap

Metal recovered from renovations, demolitions and building sites, including structural steel, roofing, wiring and fixtures, is accepted in bulk. We can also arrange collection for larger demolition loads.

Drop It Off or Book a Collection

You can bring your scrap metal straight to our Murarrie depot, or book a regular collection if you’re a tradie or business generating scrap on an ongoing basis.
We’re open Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, and Saturday, 7:30am to 11:30am. Closed Sundays.
