What You Need to Know
Photo ID Required
All transactions require a valid photo ID showing your name and address, such as a driver’s licence. This applies to all customers regardless of whether you are a private individual or a business. No ID means no purchase. This is a legal requirement and helps protect the integrity of the recycling industry.
ABN Required for Business Sales
All scrap sold to United Scrap Metal Traders from a business activity must be accompanied by a valid ABN. If no ABN is provided, we are required by law under Australian Taxation rules to withhold 48.5 percent of the total value of the transaction. Please have your ABN ready when you call or visit.
Certified Product Destruction Available
Need metal products destroyed rather than simply recycled? We offer a Certified Product Destruction service and provide a signed Certificate of Destruction for your records. This is ideal for businesses managing compliance obligations, clearing branded stock or disposing of confidential materials.
Simple, Transparent Payment
We pay bank transfer or cash for all commercial and industrial accounts. Once your scrap is weighed and graded, payment is processed promptly and you will receive full documentation for your records.
