Dropping off your scrap metal at United Scrap Metal Traders is quick, easy and hassle free. Our drive-through depot at Murarrie is open Monday to Saturday and accepts utes, trailers and small trucks. No appointment needed. Just turn up, get weighed and get paid.
How the Drop-Off Process Works
We have made the drop-off experience as straightforward as possible so you can get in, get paid and get on with your day.
1. Drive In
Pull into our drive-through depot at 913 Lytton Road, Murarrie. We are easy to find, centrally located near the Gateway Bridge and accessible from all parts of Brisbane. We accommodate utes, trailers and small trucks.
2. Get Weighed
Depending on your load, your vehicle and scrap will be weighed on our drive-on weighbridge or our staff will weigh your items directly. Either way the process is fast and transparent so you know exactly what you are getting paid for.
3. Unload Your Scrap
Our friendly staff will give you a hand unloading. You do not need to do it alone and you do not need any special equipment. Just bring your scrap and we will take care of the rest.
4. Get Paid
Once your scrap is weighed and graded you will be paid on the spot. Payment options are tailored to suit your needs so talk to our team when you arrive and we will sort out what works best for you.

What You Need to Bring
Photo ID
All customers selling scrap of a private nature are required to present a valid photo ID showing your name and address, such as a driver’s licence. This is a legal requirement and helps protect the integrity of the recycling industry.
Your ABN
If your scrap is generated from business activity, you will need to provide your ABN. If no ABN is provided, we are required by law under Australian Taxation rules to withhold a portion of the total value.
Your Scrap, Sorted if Possible
The better sorted your load, the faster the process and the better the return. If you can separate your metals before you arrive, for example keeping copper separate from steel, you will generally get a better price. Not sure how to sort your load? Give us a call and we will walk you through it.
