What Is My Ferrous Metal Worth?
The honest answer is that it depends. The value of ferrous metal is determined by a combination of factors including the grade of the material, the quantity you are bringing in and current market conditions. Ferrous metals are generally worth less per kilogram than non-ferrous metals like copper or aluminium, but what they lack in unit price they often make up for in volume.
The best way to get an accurate idea of what your load is worth is to give us a call or bring it in. We will assess your material honestly and give you a fair market price on the spot. We do not believe in low-balling and we are upfront about what we can offer.
What Condition Does It Need to Be In?
We accept most grades of ferrous metal including painted, rusty, dirty and mixed loads. You do not need to clean your steel before you bring it in. That said, there are some materials we cannot accept, so if you are unsure about a specific item give us a call before making the trip and we will let you know where you stand.
As a general rule, the cleaner and better sorted your ferrous metal is, the better the price you will receive. If you can remove obvious contaminants like timber, concrete or excessive non-metal attachments before you arrive, it will speed up the process and improve your return.

Drive through our easy-access facility at 913 Lytton Road, Murarrie, and our team will weigh your load, assess the grade and make you an offer. If you are happy with the price, we unload and pay you on the spot. No appointment needed, just turn up during business hours Monday to Saturday.
We accommodate utes, trailers and small trucks and our staff are on hand to help with unloading. If you have a very large load or an unusual situation, it is worth calling ahead so we can make sure we are ready for you.
Also Have Non-Ferrous Metal?
If your load contains a mix of ferrous and non-ferrous metals such as copper, aluminium or brass, bring it all in together. We buy both and can assess and price your entire load in one visit. Sorting your metals before you arrive will generally get you a better return, but it is not a requirement.
